Soo Thunderbirds forward Nic Sicoly has signed with the Guelph Storm.
Sicoly, who has three goals and five points in three games with the Thunderbirds this season, was selected by the Storm in the fourth round of the 2014 OHL Priority Selection after spending the 2013-14 season with the Toronto Marlboros.
With Toronto last season, Sicoly scored 14 goals and 33 points. Read More

After dropping a 3-1
decision last night to the Eagles the Thunderbirds concluded preseason action
tonight in Game 2 of the Rollie King Cup. The teams went scoreless after the
first despite the Thunderbirds being outshot 14-8. The last two period results
turned differently as the Thunderbirds fell to the Soo Eagles by a final score
of 7-1 tonight at Pullar Stadium. Overage forward Nick Tassone scored the lone
marker for the T-Birds while the shots favoured the Soo Eagles 45-22 overall
along with giving the T-Birds a record of one win and two losses during
preseason. The Thunderbirds will now open their regular season on Sunday night,
September 14th against the Blind River Beavers in Game 1 of the Provenzano Cup
at 7:30 from the John Rhodes Community Centre.

A day after the CJHL preseason rankings were released with the Thunderbirds ranked No. 5, the defending top team in the nation
began their first exhibition match up in Elliot Lake to take on the
newly named Wildcats at Centennial Arena. After trailing 1-0 after the

Eagles of the North American Hockey League will resume the Rollie King Cup series after a two-year hiatus, officials from both teams have confirmed.
