The Dezzy Cup

In honour of Colin Desmoulin, who tragically passed away in a motor vehicle accident on November 14th, 2016 the St. Mary’s Knights High School Hockey Team and the Soo Thunderbirds of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League will be playing an inter squad game on Friday December 2nd, 2016 at 3:15 pm at the Rhodes Arena for the 1st Annual “DEZZY CUP”.

Colin was a valuable member of the St. Mary’s Knights Hockey team and will be forever missed by his teammates.

Admission to the game is $2.00. There will also be a donation jar at the entrance. At the request of Colin’s parents, Sandra and Barry Desmoulin, all proceeds of this game will go to Breaking Away, as this organization was always dear to Colin’s heart.

Breaking Away is a registered not-for-profit organization for adults with developmental disabilities in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.

Breaking Away’s objective is to provide support and encouragement through a program focused on individual development and integration into the community. The name “Breaking Away” reflects the wish that these adults will have the opportunity to break away from other’s perceptions of their limitations, and the limitations imposed due to lack of opportunity to maximize their independence. Through an individualized approach, Breaking Away helps adults maximize their potential in the areas of independence, social skills, and social integration into the community.
